Some festivals begin with an idea.

Ours began with a little boy.

In 2023, our family was unexpectedly blessed with twin boys, Eden and Irie. Their arrival brought both incredible joy and unexpected challenges. Irie was born with Down syndrome and spent his first six months in the NICU and at SickKids Hospital, where we experienced the unwavering love and support of family, friends, and an incredible medical team.

When Irie finally came home, every day felt like a gift. His smile, his resilience, and the way he drew people together left a lasting mark on everyone who met him.

Shortly after celebrating his first birthday, Irie unexpectedly passed away in our arms. We were left without answers, but we weren’t left without purpose.

We knew his story couldn’t end there.

In 2025, with the generosity of friends, artists, volunteers, and local businesses who believed in the vision, Irie Vibes came to life. What began as a way to honour one remarkable life has become a place where people gather to experience music, culture, food, creativity, and genuine connection.

The word Irie speaks of peace, contentment, and a deep sense of well-being. Those values have shaped everything this festival strives to be a place where everyone feels welcome, where neighbours become friends, where families make memories, and where every person leaves a little more encouraged than when they arrived.

At its heart, Irie Vibes exists to celebrate life, community, and carry Irie’s legacy forward.

Every artist who steps on stage, every vendor who shares their craft, every sponsor who invests, every volunteer who serves, and every guest who walks through the gates becomes part of that story.
